Happy 2020 KutchValley !
For last two decades we’ve had various big & small scale events. Every year we look forward to doing some new events as well as continue our year over year events. The three major events that KutchValley has been doing are
- Spring Picnic : Apr-May timeframe.
- Camping : We did 1-night/2-night camping in June/July earlier then started doing May long weekend camping for few years. For last two years we did summer camping.
- Diwali Celebration : Oct – Nov
Apart from these major events, various small other events that happen more often are
- Hikes : Once or twice a year
- JCNC Cookout : Pathshala/Cha Gau Yatra etc.
- KutchValley Cricket Team : For last 2-3 years KV Cricket team has been playing in JCNC Cricket league
- Volleyball/Cricket
Creating this post folks to gather ideas on some new activities that we can start. The idea or goal is to bring new events that can be repeated year after year and also get interested folks who would like to lead new events. If you have an idea, put it down, maybe someone else also has a similar thought and you can connect & lead the event. Listing down few ideas that have been discussed in the past
- Walkathon/Marathon : Several KVites walk/run etc. The new decade seems to be a good year to start this activity. Lake Cunningham or Lake Elizabeth can be good venues to consider
- Bowling Night
- Sports Day
- Cricket/Tennis/Badminton/Carrom Competition
- Biking
6. Demonstrate or teach some new activity related to art, cooking, or any new topic of interest like gardening or health or tech talk, etc. We have been doing yoga on international yoga day. Maybe get an outside instructor or use kV talent.
7. Monthly meal cookout for homeless. We have been doing this in a Cupertino location. first Sunday of every month we meet at persons house for abt 30-45 mins. Make peanut butter sandwiches and make small food packets. Then goto a homeless shelter and distribute around 100-150 meal packets. Kids adults, senior citizens everyone can be involved. A fun social-activity with some service element.
Bhaviniben Nice post, as usual write-up. Bhaviniben you are inspiring to KV.
