Umpqua National Forest Scenic Trail – Oregon

During summer this year, we visited Crater Lake National Park. The blue lake indeed is breathtaking and it is a beautiful national park.

One of my colleagues suggested this scenic byway close to Crater Lake and we decided to explore it upon his recommendation. And if you love waterfalls then recommend this scenic byway. 70 miles of scenic byway with about 11 different big and small water falls.  The following trail guide gives details about how much one needs to hike etc to get a view of the waterfall.

From the list we did 5-6 falls and recommend Watson Falls, Toketee falls – both need little bit of hike. Steamboat falls not so spectacular but lot of folks were swimming in this one, they looked like locals.. The forest also has campgrounds by the falls and it is like camping in a remote area with just couple of tents – scary for me but we did find few tents.

  1. Oregon is on the list of places to explore and especially since it is not that far away. The waterfalls there are an attraction definitely. Hopefully will materialize in one of the Summers :-). Thanks for the nice informative post !!
