Was interested to know about what folks do usually for insurance on rental cars. Do you just use the “credit card” insurance or do you take the basic insurance from the rental car company.

Till the time i didn’t have my car/insurance i used to just take liability insurance from the rental company and the rental car was covered under credit card by Visa (for this u need to pay using your credit card).

Car rental insurance is generally covered under your normal Auto policy. Check with your auto policy agent/service. There might be exceptions on not takign the car to Mexico or Canada. But also check htat if youe existing auto coverage is for a mid-size car, will it cover a van?
We usally take the rental car insurance to be on safer side while renting a car as there are so many clauses which may be covered or may not cover.
