Samir/Amisha – the king/queen of games recently made us play some interesting games when KV-India went to their semi camping trip to Nilshi.
This game is a variation of the game Dumbcharades. It goes like this. People are divided up into teams each consisting of about 4-6 people. A captain is chosen for each team. There is one moderator or admin. The moderator will think of one simple word (for example a “temple”) and whisper it to the captain. Without saying anything the captain has to enact an action related to the temple (for example ringing the bell) and keep repeating it. The next person in the group needs to best guess the scene which is being played out in his/her mind and do an action related to the scene (for example : kneeling and praying). The third person in the group then will try to do similar action related to the temple. (for example, going around idol). This goes on till the entire team is doing some action. No one has to utter anything during this time.
The moderator will then ask the team to stop acting and ask the team members what did they think the original word was. The team gets a point for each correct identification of the word by the team members. For example if 4 people acted some scene from a temple correctly but 2 people thought the word was “school” or something else then the team just gets 4 points instead of 6. It is also important that the actions being done by the members are unique and no two actions should be repeated. So if one person is acting out ringing the bell the other person should not repeat this action.
The words being thought by the moderator have to be simple words which have multiple actions associated with it. At a time only one team performs. This game was lots of fun and generated lot of laughter.
Prashant, it is very hard to explain this game but you did a good job anyways. – Amisha
