My nephew was visiting us from USC and he had high fever, soar throat etc for few days. His insurance was valid in school hospital only. We visited Kaiser – Milpitas (non-emergency) and they charged $100 and Dr came and examined him. No tests were performed. She prescribed some OTC medicines. He was fine after 3-4 days.
While visiting Kaiser, I asked them if they had some list of economical places to go for uninsured patients. They gave me attached list. The one marked in circle are more economical and appointment more easily available.
When Jayesh’s dad was visiting couple of years ago we took him to our regular doctor. She had prescribed some tests etc and EL Camino Hospital had cheaper rates for cash patients. Later we claimed refunds through their visitors insurance.
