Paryushan Special

Paryushan started for most of the folks and this is the time of the year where lot of the folks will try to follow stricter diet. Hopefully all of you are in Saata. A post to capture those special foods that you make, ideally should be eating less and doing tapasya but those who can’t and still have to eat, this post is intended to capture some jain recipes.

Some of the items that I can think of are – All the kathod shaak. Dal Dhokli Upma Dhokra Kele jo shaak. Jowar ji maani and pithla

So let’s get all the different foods that you make in Paryushan and help fellow KVites 🙂

p.s. – This is a quick post to add a new article on KV 🙂

  7. Prashant had suggested me to reply before Paryushan ends..
Most of my items are already added by Komal.
Gund Kanji, Green Split dal Dhokda, Rotla, Dal Dhokali..

New way to warm dahi adopted by BOM family is to keep dahi vessel in cooker & give 1-2 whistles. And then mix it up.
It is not changing the texture & taste. It seems this method is approved by Maharaj saheb.

  10. I agree with you Nitul — these are the days to give up on food. However one thing is sure if by exchanging ideas we can avoid excuses on why we could not do it , it is worth it. some of the things I make are — methi papad nu saak, ripe banana sambhariya, vadi nu saak, besan rava dhokla, khandvi, ghatiya nu saak and raw banana – ragda pattice.

  11. Yes Madhavi, you got it right – the post is to help people to do it :).

I agree with you Madhavi and Bhavini. But I just thought that this post could have been a week earlier 🙂 and only reason being is while responding/writing to this post during Paryushan I personally wouldn’t want people to think about different food items 🙂

    Don’t get me wrong 😉

  13. Swad no tyag ye aahar no kharo tyag che :). I cannot follow that though. Thanks for all the ideas!

  14. Green Apple Subzi
