Live from Trinidad

Hi all. Prashant emailed me to write about Trinidad whenever I get here. And so heres it.

First, everyone needs to pray tonight before going to bed. This could be India’s last game and we need to avoid that.

Trinidad is a colourful and lively island with Indian traditions like Diwali well celebrated here. Nice beaches. Festive atmosphere here currently with people playing informal cricket out in the parks.

Thanks Prashant for emailing me steps to upload photos.

  1. Forgot to mention I will be carrying the banner (printed both sides) saying
“India dont make us Wait. Please enter the Super-8”.
    and
    “Tendulkar the great,
    Sehwag pulling his weight,
    Dravid’s trait,
    Ganguly’s gait,
    Kumble’s bait,
    Dhoni protecting his gate,
    India’s run-rate,
    will decide our fate
    in the Super-8”.

Watch out on TV for me wearing India team colors.

  2. Thanks Apurva !!! Banner slogan is awesome. I’m sure one of the cameraman is surely to catch you in their cameras. 🙂

  5. I back in the Bay Area. Only good thing about the trip was the sights of Trinidad and meeting Ajay Jadeja there. Other than that the match watching experience was downhill. :-(. They let us down again.

I have taken photos but dont feel like posting them right now. However here is one featuring Ajay in his Barbados T-shirt with my colleagues Anirban and Shailesh with whom i had gone to see the match.

    Jadeja Ke Saath

  6. Welcome back…. Lets meet up sometime at my place to watch some of the interesting matches. I would be interested to know the atmostphere and stories in Trinidad from someone who has actually been there.

  7. Thank You for the invitation. Will make it one of these days.

On a brighter side, I just got the info that due to early departure of indian team, Ajay will now take a break in the USA before he flies to india. There is no newspaper column to write now (heh).

I could be busy a bit during weekend because of that possibly driving him around to a few places. Not 100% sure. There are others to help too and hence i could be not needed. otherwise i plan to attend the Temple this Saturday afternoon.

  8. You can bring him along to watch also 🙂 Or maybe to the temple (temple is a Point of interest for Milpitas city). i dont have a photo with any celebrity :-(.
