Hey Guys — lets make a Cricket World Cup Pool…(like the College Basketball ones). We can start doing it just for fun (for bragging-rights) but to make it more interesting and fun, if you are willing then, everyone can put in 5 bucks into the pool, and then we’ll award 1st and 2nd place a 2/3 and 1/3 split of the pool as a prize 🙂 What do you say?
I know this is kind of late (since the first match is Tuesday morning), but I just had this idea so I thought I’ll post it anyway. This will make the whole World Cup fun to follow (and not just the India matches)!
To keep it simple, here is the format and points that I can think of:
1 point each correct selection of the Two teams out of each of the four initial groups to go to the Super Eight.
4 points each correct selection of the Four from the Super Eights who will go to the semi finals
8 points each correct selection of the Two teams who will make the finals
14 points for correct selection of the winner!

Also indicate if you are interested in contributing the $5 entry…a low-cost way to keep it interesting.
Also, since it won’t be much fun unless there are many people who participate, please submit your entry! Remember, a lot of this is just dumb-luck so no cricket-knowledge is really required! 😀

In case of equal points among toppers in KV, what is the distribution strategy?
Good point prashant…so please also give your guess for TOTAL RUNS SCORED in the Finals match. We will use this number for tie breaker.
For example, if the finals were RSA vs SL, and RSA scored 220 and SL failed to chase and scored 183, then your number here should be: 403 runs.
