You may have seen Kabul, Afghani house on El-Camino Real – but if you are in Fremont and want to try afghani cuisine, this is a good place to visit. The seating area has regular tables or sit down with your legs crossed and low tables in front – the low seating is a good seating area if you go in a big group. Ofcourse veggie entries are the same as you get at other afghani restaurants but their bread appetizer “BOLANI” is yum yum yummy for the tummy. (Picking up JASH’s quote – whatever food Jash likes he will say Yummy for my Tummy 🙂 ). Bolani is a flat bread with fillings of leek/potato and spices (similar to the aloo paratha) served with yogurt.

We went there this Saturday for Dinner. It was not that crowded. We ordered the Bolani for appetizers (we forgot what was recommended in KV and just ordered randomly but still hit the jackpot 🙂 ).
The Bolani was delicious. Its something like square pieces of aloo paratha (hot) and home made curd. The curd was awesome and so was the Bolani. And the quantity was amazing for price of 6.50. One plate of Bolani can easily serve as appetizers for 4-5 adults.
We went for the Floor seating and it was good to eat sitting with legs folded.
We also ordered the Ravioli dish and the Eggplant Sabji. Both were good. At the end we ordered Phirni for dessert and it was simply DELICIOUS.
Overall a good Saturday Dinner. 🙂
The Dogh (yoghurt drink) was ok though and can be skipped.
They give a default Salad plate to begin with and some nan also to everyone.
Good place on a slow day. The service gets ugly when crowded. It is a nice place for take out as well.
