Geni.com – a place to build your family tree

I am not good with remembering relationships and so when I goto India I face some embarrassing moments when I recognize a face but fail to put a name to it or I forget their kids names or I forget how they are related to my family. Sometimes I have to pretend to carry on the conversation as if I know the person while in the back of the mind trying to furiously remember what is my relationship to this person. 🙂

Hence I decided to take some online help. There are many family tree building tools available now.

I decided to try out geni.com upon recommendations from a few friends. So far am happy with it.

There are others like ancestry.com, myheritage.com, etc.

All of these allow you to add photos of people also.

At some higher level of the tree we all could be related in some way.
