We hope you all had a good time at the Big Bang of Kutchi Community – Diwali Dhadaka 2010. Thank you for turning up in good numbers and supporting the Diwali party with your presence and appreciation. Your encouragement is what keeps the Diwali Party going.
We hope you liked the power packed lineup that the participants had in store for you. All participants had worked hard for weeks and it showed on the final day. We have nothing but praise for every item performed. The talent pool in Kojain BayArea is mindblowing and the influx of so many newcomers ensures that we will never run dry :-). A Big Thanks to all Participants. We hope you enjoyed the practice sessions and made new friends along the way.
We always try to encourage participants to think outside the box while planning their program item and it showed. We had a number of unique first time items to give a different flavor to this Diwali Party. Examples includes Diya Dance, Pairing up Kids for Zubi Dubi Dance, Kids Drama, Mega Medley (17 performers), A Kutchi Movie, Kojain Band with Female Singers. Great Job to all the Program Leads for thinking creatively and training the performers. Please continue to churn out new creative entertainment programs in the years to come.
Sept/Oct are very interesting months for Kojain BayArea. It is when the community starts getting together to think and execute on the Diwali programs. Everyone is excited to offer ideas, be a program lead or be a participant. Once the programs are decided, the community kicks into action on execution and practices every weekend (and sometimes weekdays). The camaraderie displayed within the community is simply amazing. Folks help out within their own group and across groups for other items also. We are proud to be part of such a helpful community. As a result this is a TRUE COMMUNITY EVENT.
Organized by the Kojain Community, Of the Kojain Community, For the Kojain Community.
Since there were so many people who helped out with the Diwali Dhadaka, we will avoid taking names here. We have sent out separate emails to them. But here is a general thank you to all those who helped on the venue day, all those who helped behind the scenes before the actual day, all those who hosted practices, all those who arranged for various items on the venue day. We could not have done it without you.
Moving on to the Diwali team, it consisted of Bhavini and Jayesh Gada, Smita and Rupesh Gala, Dimple and Prashant Shah. The Diwali team has the overall responsibility to manage the different pieces and make sure all puzzle pieces fit well. The Diwali team scans each issue (venue, food, programs, finance, etc) with a fine magnifying glass in an attempt to put forth a flawless evening of fun. No issue is considered too minor.
I am just a humble PR correspondent sending the emails but all the big things happen behind the scenes and the entire Diwali team works hard throughout Sept-Oct with a single minded focus to deliver a blockbuster party. Big Kudos to the entire Diwali team for yet another successful year.
Of course things don’t turn out quite as expected sometimes. We apologize for any shortcomings and and have setup a feedback form for you to contribute any shortcomings that you noticed. It would help us to plan better next time. Micchaami Dukkadam from all of us if we hurt your feelings knowingly or unknowingly.
We have also released videos+photos of almost all items (except the Movie).
