Omega-3

My ball dance with Healthy foods continues. Trying to capture foods with good Omega-3 in them.

Aussie bites in Costco now come with Omega-3.

  1. Seems like Prashant you have just done a wellness visit!

  2. Walnuts and Flax seeds.
Costco sells milled flax seed, can be mixed with yogurt and eat.
Natures flax plus cereal from costco.

  3. Yes – cold milled jar of flaxseed is the best option I could find for a veggie. It has neutral taste. I spread it on salad or bhel or sabji and eat it. There are supplements based on algae; from where fish get their omega 3. Fish like humans cannot make O-3.

Another thing that is frequently ignored is the ratio of O-3 vs O-6. Recommended is 1:4. In our regular diet if we just eat anything that has the word omega in it (something is better than nothing), we will end up with a ratio of 1:10 or worse. This has its own disadvantages.

Conclusion: Bajarji mani with ghee, glass of milk, seero on Sundays and dry fruits on Diwali.
