I had put our infant car seat on craigslist.
To my surprise, got inquiry back asking expiry date on car seat?
As I found out, there is expiry date embossed on back of car seat.
Also friend of mine was told by Goodwill that they don’t take Strollers for donation.

I did know that car seats have expiry dates, but I have donated by car seat. I didn’t have a problem for that.
Goodwill don’t take many baby items except baby clothes. When I asked they said for medical reason they don’t accept them. I donated infant car seat to one organization where their man come and pick up the donation items from your front door. Never knew about infant car seat expiry date.
Yes. There is a law around this. Generally car seats that are older than 5 years should not be passed onto anyone. Such seats must be discarded or recycled.
Anyone know the rationale behind the expiry date of car seats? Is it that the belts and other parts of the seat become too worn out to operate and use safely? or something else?
Good to know and never thought about it and I will check it out . I am sure there has to have any reasons for the expiry date.
