As an incentive For those who browse KV while being logged in, we introduce the concept of “Like” and “Benefit”. These options will be only shown to users who are logged in. Right now these options are only available for Blog Posts. But we plan to extend them to all other content on KV very soon.
This will hopefully create a low barrier to contribute in some manner to the site and we can see more engagement from the KVites. The content creators will also be glad to see that folks are “Liking” their content and “Benefitting” from their content.
We hope to create more and more incentives for folks to be logged in while browsing KV. Soon those folks who are not logged in wont be able to see author names for all the content. They wont be able to comment on the content. Stay tuned.
Since you have mentioned here to have more incentives for folks who are logged in, why can’t the complete KV be login based – that way all the content is only visible to users who are members of kutchvalley/logged in. Once you have login based approach – it gives security to the users rather than an open webpage which anyone can access right now, KVites can be assured that the content they post will not be misused in anyway against them.
Yes. The plan is to move to a login based system. Thanks for the push. I need a push every now and then. 🙂
Ok now if you are not logged in you will be shown a red box at the top requesting you to login And pointing you to site policy.
Second step (in a week from now) would be to hide Author Names from Not logged in users.
Other steps will follow towards a login based system.
Login Duration has now been extended to be 30 days. So once you login, you will stay logged in for 30 days. Should make life easier for lot of you. :-).
