Would you like to recommend a doctor?

All of us have to visit a doctor sometime or the other – can’t escape that for sure for the lifetime 🙂
Someone or the other may have asked you one of these questions – Who is your family physician? Who is your kid’s pediatrician? Who’s the gynaec? Which dentist do you go to ?
Hence this post to gather all the information related to doctor’s , so that it could be useful to the new KV’ites that come to the bayarea, folks who are expecting, if someone want’s to change the doctor (maybe the doctor does not accept the insurance anymore) etc etc. You can also put things like if you like/dislike the doctor, does he/she answer your question’s on the phone, easy to get appointments (lot of times people have mentioned that it’s hard to get appointments – i’ve never faced that situation so far)

Some of the doctor’s that i’ve visited

Family practice physician – Dr. Geeta Krishnapriyan, ( 665 South Knickerbocker Drive South,
Sunnyvale, California (CA) ) . A good family physician, available whenever required.

Gynaec i went to when pregnant with Jash – Dr. Nilima parekhji (15195 National Avenue, Suite #207 Los Gatos) – known for handling complicated cases succesfully, does not like patient’s who don’t follow her advice :(, maynot see you at every visit, but will be there 99.9% for the delivery process 🙂

Pediatrician – We visit Dr. Neela Parekh (15000 Los Gatos Boulevard, Los Gatos, (408) 356-6167) for Jash’s regular checkup. We really like her, spends ample time with you in clinic, answerd all questions, does not recommend anitbiotics that often. Being an Indian she is aware of things in India, precautions to take when one visit’s etc. (you read about the homeopathy medicine recommended by her, btw Prashant was notified about a homeopathy medicine mentioned before India travel before he did the online search 🙂

  1. Our pediatrician is Dr. Charles Brummer and we have no complaints as such. (This is Saahas’s pediatrician too). He answers all our questions and is very reassuring about some of the questions that we ask him regarding Kairavi. However your pediatrician sounds more interesting due to the indian situations awareness.

Dimple likes her eye doctor and she can provide more info on the same.

  2. I really liked my eye doctor but can’t go to her anymore since they stopped taking VSP from this year. I used to go to Sangita Shah at Camino Medical, Sunnyvale.
During my first visit, she had various small talks with me. At next years visit, to my surprise she inquired about something from previous years converse. She clarified later that in addition to medical notes for patient she also keeps note of chat she had with them in that session and use them next time.

  3. Jainisha’s pediatrician is Dr. Jerina Kapoor and we also have no complaints as such. We use homeopathy medicine whenever Jainisha gets cough or fever. Even whenever we get sick we are using homeopathy medicine.

  4. Which Homeopathy doctor u go to over here?

  5. We have brought some medicine from India and also we had ordered some from here online. Dr. Kalpana Chedda she is in India. We will call her up and she will prescribe medicine accordingly. In Berkeley there is one store. Sometime we buy from there too.

  6. Biocombination is a good homeopathy medicine for cough and cold for kids. We also get it from India. But these medicines take effect slowly.

  7. Surprisingly no one else wants to recommend their doctor? KV folks don’t need to go to a doctor !!!!

  8. Our pediatrician and general physician are with camino medical group on Rainbow dr.
Dentist – Dr. Jyoti Sahadev. She has office in Sears at Vallco mall.

  9. My Physician is Dr. Vijay Jain from El Camino Medical Group.

About recommendations its like this. Since I see my doctor only about once a year (thank you god) and that too not for any serious sicknesses, there is no way to tell whether someone is above average or not in terms of crisis.

Uptil now I am happy with my doctor. 🙂

  10. My PCP is Dr Parul Kumar ,
Jatin’s PCP is Dr Vivek Jain
& Mithil’s Pediatric is Dr Manisha Panchal

All of them are with Camino Medical Group . So far we are happy with all . Mithil’s Pediatric is really nice, I personnely like her very much .

  11. Agree with you that it’s hard to find out about whether the doctor is above average or not. But at the same time there are lots of things that become important in selecting a physician, do you get appointments easily (lot of times have heard that doctors don’t have a slot for couple of days – i wouldn’t want to choose a doctor who is so busy 🙁 ), do they answer your concerns, do they spend ample time in office etc etc

  12. We now go to Dr Elliot Lepler in Mountain View for both kids. The only reason for the move was to have a doctor closer to home. Obviously have less questions with the second one :), so far happy with the new ped.

  13. Saahas & Saanvi go to Dr. Charles Brummer (Camino Medical Group – Mountain View) pediatrician. He is very experienced and answers all the questions during our visits.

  14. Found a OTC homeopathy syrup for cough in Longs drugs. The manufacturer has a quite a few homeopathy medicines.

    Hylands homeopathy

  15. I took some physiotherapy sessions from Nupur Oza, Proactive Therapy . Very hands on, great explanation of what is wrong where, step by step guide to cure the problems, personal attention to each patient. Highly recommend her.

  16. Looking for a Pediatrician in MV/ Palo Alto area – any other recommnedations – latest updates from people who had to choose a doctor in the last couple of years?
