Fruit based desserts and other recipes

Recently I prepared raspberry flavour jelly pudding with fresh plum puree mixed into it. The pudding doesn’t set well that you can cut it into pieces. I put ice cream in the bowl and then put that pudding on top of it. It tasted like the raspberry dolly (which we used to cherish as children).

  1. Amisha I make similar pudding but use black grape puree instead of plums. The pudding sets well if you use gelatin based jelly instead of non gelatin based one.

  2. This is Rachel Ray’s recipe: Saute thin slices of apple/pear with little bit of butter, sugar, flour, lemon, cinnamon. Saute until they are tender and serve few slices with ice cream on the side.
I did try her recipe. I just mixed the fruit and other ingredients in a vessel and put the vessel on “tava” and “tava” on the gas. Or you can bake the same mixture for some time.
It tasted very good with vanilla Ice cream on the side. The apple mixture tastes like filling of apple pie.

  3. Mango and Banana are 2 fruits that I absolutely love in some desserts. Even more than strawberry.

    Mango in Rasmalai tastes awesome.

  4. I recently made Strawberry Phirni. Have made Mango cake, Mango Rava Sheera, Cherry/Peach cobbler.

  5. In one sleepover in Pathshala, they had prepared dessert using banana. They cut the bananas lengthwise and again in to relatively big pieces. Arranged it on the baking dish, sprinkled crushed corn flakes, spread some butter on the bananas. Baked it for some time and served hot with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was really good.
    Dimple, Phirni means Jalebi??

  6. It is more like Kheer. Here is recipe. We felt it needs few more tblsp rice then suggested in recipe.

  7. One of my friends had made Cream Salad. It was really good. It’s whipping cream with mix fruits and also probably with some sugar.
