Starting this thread to discuss ideas of how the young authors’s section should be developed.
For the section on KV for our young KVites – can we start a thread to discuss the various ideas/options?
This section should be organized by weeks (Monday through Sunday). Here the kids can write about their individual experiences from their regular lives – school, sports. Tags within this section would include school, sports, arts, etc. Separate section dedicated to achievements would help in sharing their accolades within the above “tags (categories)”. Another section for ideas would be a great way to get them thinking along innovations (maybe we could all benefit from their entries here 🙂 – respective parents would own the copyrights to the ideas until the kids become adults :))
Within each week could be a KV joint activity section where experiences regarding a shared/common/joint event/activity would be posted. The young authors’ postings would have a link to/from the main event blog that parents/adults would have created.
Picking off Leena’s thread on coin collection, it would be good to have a section on hobbies – where the kids can write about their hobbies and what they are doing within that hobby.
Section to discuss favorite movies, songs, serials, reality shows, books being read, etc would all be neat too.
The central idea would be to create a “safe” and “controlled” social networking environment for our kids and get them ready for the facebook, twitter, linkedin… of the real world.
Maybe a “kavita.kutchvalley-kids.com” blog might be in order :).
Maybe create a subsite junior.kutchvalley.com ?
I will probably comment on this in detailed manner once Camping is over. 🙂
Good ideas Jaideep. Lot of kids are still young and hence unexposed to blogging etc. But we could get started with our middle schoolers and slowly expose this to other young kids. How about some discussion related to this at the upcoming camping?
