Windows productivity tools.

I have collected a few Windows hacks that have significantly boosted my productivity at home and at work. I find using the following the most:
1. Clover: This program is tabed windows explorer. Like tabs in a internet browser, you can create tabs for various open folders within a single explorer session. Plus there are easy to reach shortcuts for files and folders

2. Windows multiple desktops: This utility creates multiple desktops that you can toggle between using shortcuts (like the Mac interface). E.g. On one desktop, I have work related programs. On another, I have personal programs. This is a nice way to reduce clutter on windows taskbar

3. This chrome extension stores all open tabs in chrome and reopens all of them at press of a single click. Much more efficient than bookmarks.

4. This software allows you to download entire playlist, both video and audio (extracts audio from video) from youtube.

Please do share  your hacks!

  1. Cool tips Kalpendu. Windows 10 has inbuilt multiple desktops feature now.

  2. Good tips Kalpendu. Re #2 – I have used it in the past and absolutely loved it.

Greenshot is another great tool for capturing screens (Windows) – much better than windows snipping tool and almost on par with some of the paid ones (https://sourceforge.net/projects/greenshot/).

UltraEdit is another good text editor – however, it is not freeware.
