What do you do with those trays of leftover food after the party?
We either try and distribute to the guests or worst case trash food.
Next time, in the event of leftover food, please call the NGO FoodRunners. http://www.foodrunners.org/donate-food/
As long as the food is edible, they shall pick food from your home/office and distribute to homeless shelters in and around SF Bay Area.
I know we all have fears of food poisoning and legal actions following it when donating food. However on their website it clearly states
“There is no need to fear Legal Liability! Donors of food are protected from legal liability by both state and federal laws.”
This is a great way to save food and fight hunger!
You can call them at at (415) 929-1866.
Thanks Sneha For Sharing..it is good to know as
There is Milpitas food pantry which only takes pack food.
But they do take loose fruits and vegetables…
Inspired by foodrunners, India has its own Robinhood Army to deal with leftover food now. Here is the article.
