Starting a new category called “Debate” where in we will deal with interesting topics. 🙂
We start with the smartphone.
Smartphones have made life easier and communication faster. People are on Mobile Apps like WhatsApp and Facebook all the time. We have reconnected with long lost friends and family. We can achieve lot of things via smartphone without actually physically going to a place.
On the other hand, wherever you go you will find people immersed in their phones. Kids have also become addicted to phones and tablets since there are so many games on them. Parents use it as a quick fix to keep kids from bothering them for some time.
Are smartphones actually making us dumb by doing more and more things for us? Or are they making us smarter by freeing us up for other important work. Are smartphones a boon or curse ?
Here is a very good video and an excellent poem called “Look Up” which hits the bulls eye.
If every instance of using a smartphone can be thought of as spending money, it can help to bring down the abuses of smartphones.
The debate will also be changed to: Being a miser/spendthrift : boon / curse?
Interesting analogy Pinank, love it !!
Pinank, with that analogy, you certainly will be the richest of them all.
Everything in moderation is fine. But I certainly am fighting a losing battle on my home turf.
