Pav Bhaji
Most of us know how pav bhaji got invented. Mill workers was having very short lunch break and they need full meal to eat in short amount of time and that’s the way Pav Bhaji invented.
From time to time we seen different version of pav bhaji like
1) Simple Pav bhaji (Original version)
2) Khada Pav bhaji
3) Chess Pav bhaji
4) Jain Pav bhaji
And many more
One more street food has been added to Mumbaikar list and one more version to Pav Bhaji and getting famous day-by-day in Mumbai and i.e. “Black Pav bhaji”
Can you think which ingredients added to make Black Pav bhaji. Spice level is high for Black Pav bhaji.
(Even I don’t know what ingredients, I am trying to find out)
BTW currently this pav bhaji has been served in by Maruti Pav Bhaji, Vile Parle West & Maa Anjani Pav Bhaji Centre. No idea about other place.
Black Pepper AFAIK
Never heard of Black Pav Bhaji here yet. Pav Bhaji looks beautiful in its present reddish color. Black may not be as appealing to me. 🙂
Must be little bit of food color too 🙂
Need to check in my next visit…
Blossom (Ghatkopar) has had green pav bhaji for a long time now….. its made with palak (and ofcourse lots of color) and he used to serve it with thecha… it was really popular atleast 6-7 years ago!
Its called Hariyali Pav bhaji….
Yup…we had homemade Hariyali Pay Bhaji this time with Thecha (popular Maharastrian side dish made out of green chillies, garlic, ginger). It was delicious and just right for the winter…….
Hasmukh bhai Prashant had posted an article on Pav Bhaji (an avid Pav Bhaji fan that he is)
