Things to do with kids when in Mumbai

Picked this up from a post shared by Minati on Facebook…..

Found it very interesting so sharing here on KV.

Holidays are great back home in Mumbai with friends and family all around all time…..

But find it difficult to entertain kids sometimes when other kids have gone to school…..

Somethings that we typically do with kids is take them to Five Gardens (Wadala-Matunga) almost every evening as kids are fascinated by the ghoda gaddi rides and balloon game outside the park.

Though park itself is very poorly maintained with broken play structures which I think are unsafe! I am not sure how we managed to play.

Also Maheshwari Udyan at Kings Circle is another evening favorite. This park is maintained by L&T so its in pretty good shape with decent paly structures.

We have also visited Fish Aquarium at Chowpatty and Rambo Circus in our last visit.

Here are some good ideas for our next vacation…..

I guess somethings on my agenda are

Boat Ride at Gateway of India and then stroll around there….

Nehru Science Center (Have had great memories as a child)

Maybe Byculla Zoo (but very skeptical with the condition of the park)

Open Bus tour from the article sounded like great fun!

Am a big fan of Priyadarshani Park at Bridge Candy….

Hopefully can plan some day trip with KV Mumbai-Pune…

So what do you do with kids when in Mumbai?

  1. Adding to your list:
    Joggers park
Hiranandani park and later going for dinner in that area.
Brunch and swim package at Rennisance , Powai or at J W Mariott
Kamala Nehru Park and Hanging garden on a weekday
May sound awkward to some – But I enjoy taking Veer( now he enjoys it too) to 100 + yr old derasars in Bombay. Very rich history . Chandanbala derasar( walkeshwar), Babulnath Derasar, Anantath Derasar, Thane Derasar etc.

  2. Thanks Minati & Sneha for posting the link – has quite a few things to do. Not at all surprising Madhavi about Walkeshwar etc temple visits. We also visit few temples during our trip. Been to Byculla zoo few times when Jash was small and he enjoyed it. The aquarium and boating in Parle was fun too. Kids have now outgrown Five gardens and visits in rainy season now restrict outdoor activities as well 🙁
