While we all know of Golden Gate park in San Francisco but this is another great location to have a family picnic in the city of San Francisco.
A different kind of park that has lots of activities and action going on.
It is located in the mission district in San Francisco, and I would add it to the must visit place for localites.
There is a path that goes around the park for walking/jogging, lots of grass and a nice play structure.
The play structure was renovated earlier last year and the newly made structure is fun for both kids and adults.
You can pretty much get the essence of San Francisco – people of SF & nice view of the SF skyline.
Folks were reading, playing, juggling, sun bathing, some just watching others etc etc.
I don’t recollect picnic tables here (am only delayed posting by little over a year 🙂 ) but there was a food truck in the park (of course vegetarian options are limited).
Apart from the play structure everyone had a blast rolling on the grass slope.
The park is on a slope, liked the slope as one can see the SF skyline from the height and also a good view of the entire park.
Parking can be difficult as one has to park on the nearby streets.
But overall a fun place, if you are looking for something different in the city.
Similar to south bay parks this park hosts summer movies too.
Have some ice-cream from Bi-rite next time you are there! Oh, they also have movie nights in Dolores, they are fun!
Good park in Castro neighborhood :)Does not sound right
@ Hiten, All of us really enjoyed the play structure when we last year – lots of families there and is a “clean” place. Can’t predict what one gets to see in the other parts of the park. But it all depends upon how lucky you are 🙂 or whether you see the Glass as half full or half empty !!
