  1. Buy small but buy it :).

Last year I had visited Mehra Jewelers in Sunnyvale, but found a bit expensive than market rates, but I felt the prices were expensive than in india. Not sure where else we could buy gold coins. If you plan to buy bulk below is good site :
    Buy Gold Here

From previous post “Gold has come down from 1200 to 750” is history. Today just in four years the gold rate are almost double.

I would suggest to invest more in Silver, Silver is metal used in industries too and hence demand increases day by day. Silver rates might double up than what they are today in next 5 years.

  2. All the jewelery stores in the bay area can sell you the gold coins. Some stores will give you a discount (5 to 10 dollars) when you buy 2 or more gold coins.

You can also buy 10 coin in a nice small packet.

  3. So how much Gold did everyone buy 🙂
Happy Dhanteras….hope it keeps showering Gold and Silver on your vaults

  4. Branded coins cost slightly more then generic.
Maple leaf used to be known & popular brand earlier.. Not sure lately.
Now a days instead of buying actual gold, ppl have also started investing gold stocks.

  5. I did some silver coins research recently and found that:
The Indian stores sell coins at a premium, even compared to buying coins over the net. On the net, there are better rates for buying in volumes.
I also support Naman’s comment about investing in Silver rather than Gold.
Investing in gold stocks as Dimple suggests is also a good option.

If buying small quantity coins then go for local shop and buying Maple leaf is the best choice.
