USS Hornet is an aircraft carrier that served in World War II and is now stationary in Alameda
It is a four level ship with self explanatory exhibits and some guided tour, has a nice view of the bay too.
We went there recently and felt it is a good tour for kids (recommended for 6+ yrs of age) and adults.
We had gone during long weekend and by 11.00 it started becoming crowded.
So reach early for better experience.
Outside food is not allowed, a shack inside the ship sells condiments and veggie burgers etc.
Need approximately 3-4 hours for the tour.
