Wonderful Pu La Deshpande Park in Pune

Pu La Deshpande Park

Recently we went to the Pu La Deshpande Park in Pune on Sinhagad Road. Its also known as Pune Okayama Friendship Garden or the Japanese Garden. Its a really beautiful park. They have maintained it very well. And they have a water stream which runs around the park. Its a man-made stream as such with the water coming from the water purification plant which is next to the park. And probably the water gets recycled. But because of the stream flowing amid the green grass the outcome is very scenic. Folks are not allowed to go in water or on the grass. There are several women security guards who blow the whistle if anyone is found going on the grass or in the water.

Fortunately they have made a wading area where entering the water is allowed.

They also have orange fishes in the small pond just like the ones in Kelly Park , San Jose.

There are no playstructures for the kids though. Its mostly a good walking trail park for adults. But kids will have fun wading in the water and looking at the fish.

There are various small and medium waterfalls too.

There are couple of gazebo like structures where we found students reading, etc.

The entry is a nominal 5 Rs / adult only. And there is plenty of parking.

Overall a very beautiful park with green grass, bridges, streams, flowers, gazebos, etc which is worth visiting if you come down to Pune.
