Amma’s Restaurant

This may not be a new place for Fremont folks and/or other folks but posting it since haven’t seen a review of it on KV yet. And for some of us who rarely get a chance to eat in Fremont restaurant, this one is a decent place to eat if you are in the neighborhood or would like to try something new.

We went here with a group of friends and liked the food. Amma’s is a multi cuisine place and serves both veg and non-veg. The ambience is very nice and different from most of the other Indian restaurants. Loved their huge murals on walls which depict Southern states and also have Rajnikant poster 🙂

We ordered indo-chinese and doas’s. Recommend the crunchy corn in appetizer. Both dry and gravy Manchurian’s were good. Lots of Dosa varieties as well.

Our server was very friendly and so was the manager (not sure if he was the mgr or the owner, introduced himself as the manager). We were there for a friends birthday and were joking with the server for a birthday special. They gave us on the house dessert, Gajar Halwa with ice-cream, really delicious Halwa. Couldn’t stop eating it !!! And the staff also sang for the Birthday boy or rather man 🙂

They also have a Banquet hall next door (about 125 capacity) and within the restaurant an open but semi-private seating for a group of 30 people.

  1. Even we went to Ammas restaurant last year and food was decent enough. Liked the ambience and as you said we also noticed the nice semi private seating area which would be nice for a small get-together.

  2. we ordered lotus stem appetizer which was yummy..
