The Museum of American Heritage (MOAH), The Bay Area LEGO® User Group (BayLUG) and Bay Area LEGO Train Club (BayLTC) are again combining forces this winter to repeat last year’s spectacular Holiday season display at MOAH.
Living LEGO-CY is now open to the public from December 9 through January 15, 2012 (11 am – 3:30 pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Do check about their holiday schedule as they are closed some of the days.
Admission to the special Living LEGO-cy display is free for active MOAH and BayLUG members and $2 per person for all others.
Myself and Jash went there for a visit last year and it was amazing to see all the unique structures made with Legos. There was a replica of world war 2 ship, a lego crane that could lift upto 2 pounds of weight, a globe, mini cities of legos – gas stations, farms, swimming pools, Lego trains etc etc. Some of the displays take months to make and each was a unique creation.
MOAH is located in the residential neighborhood and the Lego exhibit was in a small garage size structure at the back of the house.I would not recommend going in a large group, as we can be a noisy bunch :-). There is a small park across MOAH. Lego exhibit also sells some ready to made Lego boxes similar to the ones you get in stores.
The MOAH also has antique and unique stuff, so do visit that one if you get a chance. Though MOAH wasn’t as crowded as the Lego exhibit 🙂 For more information, address, schedule etc visit – MOAH
And runs from December 7, 2012 through January 13, 2013 this year ..
