Quick Cereal Chevdo

Ingredients –
Regular Corn Flakes, Honey Nut or Plain Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Fiber One (small quantity of fiber one – the gathiya style one),
Curry Leaves,
Jeera,
Ajwain,
Green Chillies or Red Chilli Powder
Oil
Roasted/Sauteed Peanuts, Cashews and Raisins
Salt to taste.

Steps
——
1. Saute the Peanuts, Cashews and Raisins and keep them aside.
2. Saute or fry the green chillies
3. Heat Oil and give tadka of Mustard seeds, Jeera and Ajwain. Add chillies and curry leaves.
4. Add all the cereals now, salt and the garnishes (Peanuts, Cashews etc), mix well and your chivda is ready in minutes.

Tips – 1. Ajwain gives unique flavor to this one, so don’t skip 🙂
2. If you like sweeter taste then add Honey Nut cheerios or Frosted Corn flakes else use the regular ones.
3. Keep all the cereals handy, either pre-mix them or keep the boxes ready, and add rice krispies in the end.

  1. Wow. I sometimes eat raw cereals as Chevdo but never heard of this recipe before.

    Hopefully this is a new discovery otherwise we will be angry that we were never served this while we were there. 🙂

  4. Just recently I had made it. It came out good and tasty.
    Instead of corn flakes I used chex cereal. I didn’t add Jeera. Next time I should try with Ajwain.
