Greens

I can see the huge change on the KV site since Prashant got busy with all the moving to-dos. And the lesson for all of us is to start contributing if we have to keep this site up and running! Set a personal goal of atleast posting something to the site once a month – it can be anything – a new restaurant, movie review, interesting article, there are umpteen possibilities! I am starting here with a restaurant review in the city, since I just moved out and still feel nostalgic about all my favourite places there…..

I recently tried Greens – an all vegetarian restaurant in Fort Mason, SF. Its mainly Californian style cuisine fine dining restaurant. Its right on the ocean – on a clear day you can get great views of the GG Bridge and the sunset if you lucky to get a table by the window. The food was very good – really fresh ingredients and pretty healthy! They replaced the rice with whole barley in a risotto that we tried. I had a three course meal – appetizer, entree and dessert were all very good. My server recommended quite a few dishes and we went with her recommendations and all were good! There menu is changing constantly – so everytime you go, there will be something new on the menu.

I would recommend it for special occassions (since its kind of expensive) for the awesome views, good food and good service.

  1. Way to go Minati.

  2. A big virtual hug to Minati. 🙂

  3. Yes it a nice place…we went there last year for Ami’s birthday and she really liked it too.

  4. any Jain options ??

  5. They have jain and vegan option.

  6. @ Nitulbha: Most restaurants in SF have been very accomodating about such requests in my experience. I have been able to eat jain at a vegetarian chinese restaurant before and even a French restaurant! (which is not even known for having too many vegetarian options…)

  7. I would also recommend Greens. Food was decent and the views were stunning. Its little expensive.

  8. I would also recommend Burma Superstar – the wait is pretty long, but food was great!
