Jai Jinendra KV,
On eve of upcoming Paryushan festival I wanted to request you all to start considering giving up Ratribhojan i.e. No dinner after sunset. Its very difficult to follow this… many people would say but imagine how many of such difficult tasks we complete achieve when our managers assign us at work.
Have a look at the attached picture and you would understand how many life’s we are adding to our soul.
Please please try avoiding Ratribhojan daily if possible and if not at least for the next 8 days of Paryushan.
Michhami Dukkadam to ALL.
If one were to take the billboard-writer’s (couldn’t come up with a better word) “crime and punishment” table for its face value then I am sure 99.9999% of people in the world are in a big hole for the amount of “mahapaap” they have done buy eating/drinking after sunset.
Not trying to ridicule the picture, but sometimes religious folks try senseless “scare” tactics to get others to believe in what they are saying and thats the thing I firmly oppose 🙂
On the other hand it is probably a better thing to eat early and give your stomach a rest in the night. There is probably more health evidence around it that somebody may be able to dig up. So in principle I am all for an early dinner. Now only if someone could convince my better half on this subject (wishful thinking!)..

One question….and who decided the severity of Paap? What standards are used to decide Paap.
NO hard feelings….
Its just Friday
Hello Neetul,
