Bay Area Summer camps 2010

Registration for 2010 summer camps has already started. And since some of us would have to plan for the whole summer for kids, creating this post to capture camp related details. Last year we tried ICC, Camp Galileo, YMCA (mountain view), Sunnyvale Summer Quest and Airborne Gymnastics camp. Came across few that seem interesting to me –

Valco Icecenter – http://www.icecenter.net/events/coolcamps.html

Golden Eagle Summer Camps – http://www.goldeneaglecamp.org/, have heard good reviews of this one.

Please share any reviews that you may have and other summer camps that you come across.

  1. This is a good post to capture all the interesting summer camps that you are considering for your kids. Will be tremendous help to the community. So please share.

  2. Dimple has done most of the R&D. So maybe she can comment on her findings.

We are exploring the option of a week long Hindi Camp too for Kairavi. ICC in Milpitas offers that and we may opt for that for a week.

I got one positive review about Camp Galileo from Yahoo! and I think a couple of kids from KV have also gone there.

  3. Kairavi’s school Merryhill has good summer camp; hence that is our default choice. We are planning for couple of specialty camps. In addition to Prashant’s above comment we are looking at
    Mt. View YMCA
    Milpitas Recreation Center
    US Hindi Association

  4. Its that time of the year, when parents are exploring summer camp and registering. and high time for me to write my almost year old reviews. Summer of 2010. Kairavi attended following camps..
    – YMCA (Mt. view)- Ice Skating & Lego camp.
For Ice Skating, they used to go to SJ Sharks 10-2 from Mt. view. They will have two session of skating per day with lunch break.
Lego camp was onsite. Didn’t get to see what kids made as they will clean up by 3pm.
    – SJ Art Museum – Art camp
Very unique. Highly recommend. On Sat. at the end of the week, they have professional style art exhibition for parents.
    – Milpitas community center – Golden Arrow camp & Mad science.
Golden Arrow camp was cheapest amongst all :-). Still impressive. They have theme for each week and field trip per week.

Kairavi and parents liked, all the camps she attended.

  5. Thanks Dimple for the reco. We are considering the SJ Museum Art Camp for Jash and in my to do list to create a post for this year as well 🙂

  6. Mythology Camp on 21st May at Jain temple
