Bing Cashback

I just made my first purchase via Bing Cashback and I am happy to report that I saved 168$ on a Dell Laptop. Bing was offering 20% cashback on Dell laptops. Some KVites already are experts in Bing Cashback purchases (Nitul for example). But it could be great way to save on some products.

Here is what i did:
1) Searched on Bing for Dell Laptops
2) Clicked the Dell result that had the $ sign next to it.
3) Bing asked me for my email and then redirected me to the dell website.
4) I went and made the purchase on dell. Note that there will be no indication on dell that you are going to get cashback. Just go ahead and complete the transaction.
5) I went and checked my email and in the spam folder I found email from Bing asking me to create a cashback account on bing’s website.
6) I created a cashback account and used same alternate email as I used for dell purchase.
7) Within 2 days I got email from Bing saying I have been credited with 168$ for the laptop purchase. It will take 60 more days before they will send a check I think. But that is fine with me.

Some things to note:
a) You can also create a bing cashback account before hand and then start your purchase. I created it after my purchase.
b) Use the same browser for the whole thing. If using IE8 dont browse in private mode.
c) If you agree to pay via paypal then the cashback appears faster. I paid by credit card though.
d) There is a yearly limit of 2000 or 2500$ on cashback. And I think at a time cashback cannot be more than 200$.
e) No coupons should be used on the product you are buying. If the item is on discount without any coupons then its ok.

So the next time you are buying a product, you might want to check bing.com to see if there is potential savings via cashback program.
