We came across this wonderful forum when Googling for ideas to go with kids around the Bay Area. We are Kutchhi too, and from Mumbai. We would like to know other Kutchhi people in the Bay Area, and how this forum works.

There are a lot of kutchis here in the bay area of course. Most of us are from Mumbai. We meet often for various activities. Do let us know if you want to join in those activities.

Well, at least you replied, because we were starting to wonder if we made a mistake in posting to this blog…
I (Bhavesh) hail from Thane, and came to the US (Denver) in fall of 1994. My wife Kavita comes from Ghatkopar and came to the US after our marriage in 1999. We have two girls, Prisha (7) and Geeti (close to 3). We moved to the Bay Area from Denver in late 2005.
Tell us more about your group, and how we can meet everyone.

BTW, I couldn’t find the kutchvalley yahoogroup. I found kv_playdate and kvjainshala, but no kutchvalley.
Welcome to the group. Nice names of girls. The group has more than 100+ members, Prashant would tell the exact count when he sends out the weekly “Kavita”. Look forward to seeing you all at one of the next KV (KutchValley) events.

The kutchvalley yahoogroups is probably hidden from search. I have added your yahoo email to the yahoogroups. The yahoogroups contains a database of some members contacts. Feel free to add yours to the mix.
The other 2 yahoogroups are also ours – one for playdates and one is for kv-jain-shala.
Our next event will be a stroller hike sometime in next 4 weeks and a Great America Park Outing (Many of us have season passes). Keep checking the website for other events though where a smaller number of people keep meeting.
Of course Bhavesh is the most popular name in kutchis here. With Bhavesh Gosar, Bhavesh Salia, Bhavesh Chheda, Bhavesh Patel, Bhavesh Nisar. 🙂
That’s the strangest thing 🙂 Before I moved to the bay area, I didn’t personally know any other Bhavesh’s, though I had always been told that it was a very common Kutchhi/Gujarati name. That was until I joined VMware, and now there are 3 Bhavesh’s here. There is a Bhavesh Patel here at VMware, wonder he’s the same one you mentioned, otherwise that would be too freaky 🙂
BTW, for the record, we are Bhavesh & Kavita Davda. I’ll update your database in yahoogroups.

Not sure who the Bhavesh Patel in VMVare is but I see that Amit Chheda (kutchi) is connected to him via LinkedIn. 🙂

There is a Cherry picking cum mini-camping(to Del Valle-Livermore) coming up this long weekend 24th May. If you would like to join express you interest in this thread http://www.kavita.kutchvalley.com/?p=1272 and I will add you to the ongoing email threads. Some people are just coming for a day for Cherry picking and then joining the campers at the campground though not staying overnight.
