Parul/Aayush/Aarshi and Samir/Amisha/Bhumi/Keya are visiting the Bay Area during months of Apr/May when the kids have vacation back in India. Parul is here from Apr 6th onwards and Samir from Apr 23rd onwards. We all are of course very delighted at having the oppurtunity to spend fun time with them and the kids during Apr/May.
Since our main “featured” camping is in mid-June, they will miss out on camping fun. So why not go on a mini-camping in May in addition to the main camping in June so that these 2 families can join in the fun.
This mini-camping will be for 1 night, total non-organized (everyone to bring their own food) and some place closeby (like Del Valle).
We asked Samir/Amisha and Parul and they were very excited at the idea of getting to experience camping fun. The dates that we came up with based on their availability are :
May 9th or May 23rd.
May 16th is ruled out due to pathshala.
May 23rd is a long weekend and if the majority decides on this date then the stay can be extended to 2 nights as well. Bhavini suggested Kings Canyon/Yosemite for long weekend as well.
So put in your ideas and whether you are interested to do this mini camping and what are your preferred dates.
We will swap the Spring Picnic to be on Apr 26th.
Camping dates between May 9th or 23rd will also depend upon the availability of the camp sites.

We might be interested since mom and dad would like to come but I was concerned about the weather . will it not be too cold. we should think of th eplace which is less likely to be cold, then we may join. I think may 23 sounds a better idea hopefully the weather will get better

Looks like 23rd weekend has the majority.
There are some sites available at some nearby parks like Lake Del Valle and Brannan Island for May 23 weekend. There are more sites available for Sun night then Sat night for that weekend.
We ourselves probably cannot make it on the 23rd long weekend due to other plans. But I will help to find and reserve camping spots.

Cherry Picking
Due to heavy interest in Cherry picking amongst the one day stop by’s, we would do cherry picking on the 1st day (24th) on our way before we get to camping site.
Neelam/Smita/Kalpa can one of you amongst the 3 post the details about where can we go cherry picking and what would be a good time to get there. (Note: Please discuss offline and post only one final option here, lets not start a thread of places we can consider.)
