Do you take a flu shot for yourself/kids?

Although this question should have been asked before winter begins 🙂 But serves as early post for next year now 🙂

What are your thoughts on flu shot? Do you take it every year? Recommend taking it  ?? We haven’t taken it so far, but every year doctor would recommend it 🙂

BTW I recently came to know an interesting fact about flu shot — Both the flu shot and the nasal flu vaccine contain egg, they should not be administered to anyone with an allergy to eggs, but certain antiviral prescription medications may help prevent the flu.

  1. I have never taken flu shots till now. And neither has my family.

Most of my colleagues fall sick nevertheless due to flu (even after taking the shot) while I am merrily working away.

  2. I take it and am usually OK. people usually fall sick for a day since, the vaccine contains live virus. with flu people usually down for 4 days to a week.

  3. None of us take flu shots. Doctors recommend flu shots to those kids who fall sick often during the year.

  4. We both never take the shot. We stopped it for Niyom from this year onwards too. He was just fine. No difference from the last year.

  5. None of us till now have ever taken flu shots.

  6. We have never taken Flu shots, not even for Mithil, for some reason i have seen people suffering more after taking flu shots. My brother & his family in NJ take flu shots every year & even after that i have seen them suffering from cold & fever every year. So i guess the idea of taking flu shots for preventing cold or anything related does not convince me.
