I have added a new category called “Product reviews” to the existing categories. This category is to post reviews on products that you have done research on or bought. Since you have done some research already, it will help save others’ time and they can consider the same product if its interesting.
Today’s product review is a simple product “Battery Tester”. I had several kinds of batteries lying around the house and I was never sure how much life did they have in them. So I bought this cheap self-powered Battery tester from Amazon. It is for 6$ and it is very worth it. Gives a good indication of whether to throw away the battery or keep using it. Checks AA, AAA, C, D, 9V types of regular or rechargeable batteries.
Here is the link on Amazon:
Mastech BT558 Self-powered Battery Tester
It has good reviews on Amazon.
The other one which I considered was the 12$ T-333 Universal Battery Checker. However this requires its own battery but it has a digital display and is supposed to be more accurate. This has good reviews on Amazon too.
I found multimeter for $9.99 at Fry’s that tests batteries of all voltages and much more. of course, the prong electrodes are not as convenient as the above mentioned battery tester however, most of the engineers should be able to deal with it.
