I was just thinking that it might be a good idea to put a calendar of sorts that lists people’s travel dates (self, parents, relatives), so that others can use this to co-ordinate companionship on flights.
Info might be in the form of:
Date/time – Starting Airport/city – Destination Airport/city – Airline/flight number – hidden or exposed contact information (hidden or pseudo email created for members?)
-Jaideep
That’s a good idea. We can travel details & who is traveling. Most of us have everybodies contact number so can skip making them available on website.
On the same line, anybody traveling Bombay- SF in April (other then Bhavini 🙂 ), our friends parent looking for company.
Plan to travel a week after Bhavini. Same airline as her’s.
Our Parents are traveling to SF on May 12 in EVA air.
Jatin’s Bhabhi & Kids are travelling to SF on 3rd April in EVA air . Bhavini is also in same flight.
Anybody you know traveling BOM-SFO in Cathay on May 13?
just stumbled upon this blog while searching for something, there is this website for travel companions that i have used, might be useful for the group, so thought of sharing.

Hope that helps
Summer coming along again and lots of travel is on the cards. Maybe time to revitalize this thread/idea again. Much better to travel with the family member known through the network rather than a website IMHO.
Not the right post but since this is travel related hence posting it here. On our last trip to India, at the US checkin some folks who were in line before us had to go home to get the old passport for their child. The child’s passport was renewed and he had a PIO card but the old passport had the PIO stamp. So it is a good idea to make sure to check passports and carry all, especially for kids since their passports expire every 5 years. And on the same note, recently renewed Sanaa’s passport, for Santa Clara folks Alviso takes walk in appointments for passport renewal, most other post offices are now appointment based(had called about 4 to check for availability) and had more than 2 weeks wait times for appointments.
