We visited Tikuji Ni Wadi on our recent trip to India. Its a amusement park + water park + resort. Its in Thane. We went during a weekday to avoid any crowds. But when we reached there we found several school picnics had come there. It seems these days school picnics usually go to these resorts. We were some of the few adults that were there. Everywhere there were uniformed children. However that was no problem. While waiting in lines, they allowed the non-uniformed Kairavi ahead of the school kids since otherwise Kairavi would have to wait for a long time.

Some of the rides in amusement park were for adults also. After spending time in the amusement park, we went to lunch. They have good vegeterian buffet. We ate a lot and felt a bit sleepy.
No problem with that also. They have lot of “khatalas” (cots) spread out under trees. We went there and chilled for a while. This gave a farm-like atmosphere.

Then we went to the water park. It was January and hence a bit cold. But we still did some of the rides in the water park. It was fun. Not as much crowd in the water park. They even had a lazy river similar to Great America Park here in Santa Clara. This lazy river is more fun though since it has a waterfall falling on you. 🙂

They have nice and clean showers. After the water park we went to another area of the amusement park where there are lots and lots of kids rides. Kairavi had fun on these rides. Since it was weekday and towards evening time she was the only kid on many of these rides. They even have a “Jungle” type play structure.

Finally we did some go-karting too. We had to pay extra for the go-karting though.

Overall it was a nice trip and I am glad to see such resorts coming up in Mumbai for people to let off steam. Suraj WaterPark is nearby also and that was also recommended by many folks in India. So next time we will try that out.

One of my most favorite places. I have been there several times before I came to USA. The last time I visited was in 1999. Long time I know and since then there are so many and better changes. Just love it.
We been having family picnics at Tikuji ni Wadi since I was 8-9 years old…….of course it was not this developed then and also accessibilty was less…..but this place has been all time favorite and a quick getaway from Mumbai hustle bustle……
