Time to decide dates for Family Hike and Spring Picnic. And for that matter the venues too.
March 22 is filled with Holi. So has to be after that weekend.
Mita had suggested the Hike to be on a non-pathshala Sunday. However that puts the next available date as Sunday Apr 13.
So should we aim for
Sunday Apr 13 —> Family Hike and
Saturday Apr 26 -> Spring Picnic ?
Anyone has any events clashing with the above ?
Venue suggestion for picnic – Baylands park (Picnic Benches under Gazebo, Good Play struture, Looong Bike path, Kite flying area, lawns to play any game, Water feature may not be on in April though.)
So shall I assume these dates are fine ?
Now we can start discussion on venues.
For Spring Picnic I recommend Almaden Lake Park in San Jose. Its got everything (bocce ball, volleyball, play structure, boating, sand play area) (although need to find out whether boating is ON in April or not).
For Family Hike, I recommend Hidden Villa Hike

Can we have a hike where kids can ride their scooter/bikes?
Just a Friday Thought – Shouldn’t the hike be for hiking & not biking 😉 Kids get plenty for opportunity to ride bike. How many times do they get to hike?

if the kids do not have the option of biking during the hiking – then the kids hike needs to be for 1 mile or less than 30-45 min? And Me thinks it will be difficult to keep them occupied with the hike if there are no bikes/scooters.
Looks Like Apr 26 could have some clashes. May 3 is the alternate date for Spring Picnic.
Or we forget about the Family Hike for time being and have Spring Picnic on Sat, Apr 12.
