How does March 8 sound for a Tahoe Trip. That weekend is a pathshala free weekend. So plenty of time for rest on Sunday.
Few recos from KVites were:
http://www.snowplay.com/ was the site recommended by Nilesh and Neelam.
Dodge Ridge mentioned by Tushar.
Bear Valley mentioned by Sneha
Northstar resort is another place also.
I object! I am out that weekend… somehow Prashant picks exactly those days when I am not around… can we try another weekend ? Not again.. pls!
I am fine with March 15 as well as long as any pathshala parents are fine with it.
I guess March 15th will be too much to ask for after playing in snow whole day and getting up early next day for pathshala :(((
we are ok with both dates.
If theres a majority of Pathshala people, it would be fair for me to back out. I am fine.
[Deep] – We prefer March 8th as well due to the pathshala constraint (sorry Jeegar!). Also interested in carpooling.
Just wanted to check Are we planning for one day trip ?
We are fine with anydates. Myself and Miloni would like to join. Need a ride if possible or I can drive.
The previous comment was from me. Didn’t realize that Manish was logged in. Myself and Miloni would like to join since Manish has work next weekend. Interested in carpooling
Any date is fine with us.
Lets decide on Mar 8 (Sat) to goto Leland Snowplay (snowplay.com). For those who want to ski you have the Dodge Ridge ski resort 5 miles from there.
By what time do we plan to start & come back. Also how do we want to take care of the food?
* Park hours are 9am to 5pm. Hence we should aim to reach park at 9/9.30am. From our home it is 2hr 14min drive.
* For food it would be easier & quicker if everybody managed there own food/snack. Either prepack something from home or use snack bar at the park.
* Snowplay Walk-Up Rates – Weekend & Holiday – All Day – Entry: $15.00 per person
Snowplay Tow-Up Rates – Weekend & Holiday
– 2 Hour Ticket Entry: $15.00 per person
– 3 hour Ticket Entry: $20.00 per person
– All Day Entry: $25.00 per person
They sell limited Tow-away ticket hence better to reach on time.
For group rates website shows sold out & mentions one week adv. booking. So we might have missed the boat.
* Tubers are required to be at least 44 inches tall to ride the tow.
My neighbor had been there few weeks ago. Atleast it will take 3 to 3 and half ours. Yahoo maps is also showing 3 hours 10 mins
I called Leland and here are some updated.
– For kids under 44 inch, there is walk up kiddie hill where they can do tubing.
– Kids under 44 & less then 5 yr. for walk up – $9 for full day
– In snack bar some of the vegg. optitons are Burger, fries, Nachos, PB&J
Since one parent will be with the kid, you may want to just buy one ticket and then exchange with your spouse once its ur turn to watch the kid. 🙂
Bring some sand toys for kids to play in snow.
