Loose change: Your way to deal with it.

Every one of us has loose change courtesy payment by cash at various stores. How do you deal with so much loose change?

Do you make it a point to carry some loose change with you when you shop and then give the exact change at the counter. Thus making the outflow of loose change more than the inflow.

Or do you store it at home and at some point of time just exchange it with cash at some bank or store which has such facility.

Or is it perpetually sitting at home making a mountain which is growing day by day and you just like to listen to the jingle sound that money makes. 🙂

Of course some of us collect the pennies for Teen Patti in the hope that it will get used those 1-2 days in the year when KVites meet and play teen patti. 🙂

  1. I store all the loose change in a box and take the box with me when we go shopping at the farmer’s market. It’s easy to get rid of all the change there.
I also try to pay in amounts that would result in me getting back quarters or whole dollars rather than small change.

  2. I usually come home and dump the loose change in one of several containers at home – from where it finds its way to Rushabh’s and Miloni’s piggy banks.

  3. Whenever i pay cash, i also do the same as Leena – try to pay the amount that would result in getting quarters back.
