Another one of my random thoughts posts. :-). I was at this friend’s place yesterday and after finishing dinner I drank some water from a steel glass.
The water felt good and I started to wonder why I liked this water better than the water at my place even though both are probably the same water. It struck me that could it be that the “container” made a difference.
At home I usually drink from a glass container. After thinking over it for some time I think that the container usually does make a difference. As per me the satisfaction feeling that you get from drinking water can be graded on basis on container that it is in.
So
Steel > Glass > Paper > Plastic.
Plastic offers the least satisfaction in drinking water and Steel offers the most.
And that is the conclusion of this scientist Prashant’s experiment. 🙂
(Had warned you it was a random post. 🙂 ).
Tap water in Sunnyvale tastes crappy and so we buy water. I am guessing that the scientist 🙂 has already discounted that in his conclusion but just to make sure.
No Prashant these are not random thoughts just signs of aging…..
Steel Lotta is better than Steel Glass – Try it out.
Also, experiment with drinking from the Copper lotta- it tastes different. I think per ayurveda, it has some medicinal properties – drinking H2O from Copper vessel.
To get the maximum benefits out of copper lota, water has to be boiled and stored in the lota overnight and needs to be consumed first thing in the morning (all of it):)
My dad has been drinking this since atleast 25-30 yrs…may be more…
Besides the taste I simply abhor people who use a plastic or paper cup for one time use and then throw it away…
I feel I drink lot more water if am using water bottle or steel glass. We have steel glass at home which I guess was barely noticed until yesterday 😉
Like copper glass u can keep water in silver galss overnight and consume in the morning. Many people use silver glass for daily purpose to drink water.
Learn from the horse 🙂
I don’t know if I can taste the difference between glass and steel, but plastic is definitely the worst. This doesn’t apply to plastic water bottles.
Other factors are also the temperature…I find I like it slightly cooler than room temperature, but freezing water ends up bothering me more than helping.
Is everyone here in the “water, no-ice please” boat while ordering water in a restaurant?
Water – No Ice is a term which fits most Indians. So much so that there is a website “waternoice.com” for bay area indians.
