San Francisco zoo is open on 4th July (wednesday) and offers free admission that day (being the 1st wed of the month). It is open from 10am to 5pm and some of the areas in the zoo closes at 4:30pm
Oakland zoo is open from 10am to 4pm. It is not FREE on 4th July day.
They do have group discount for 12 or more people but reservation and non refundable deposit is required. For more info on rates : http://www.oaklandzoo.org/about_the_zoo
Start commenting as where we want to go this 4th July?
We will skip the daytime zoo trip and just go for fireworks in the evening. We have been thinking to go to Oakland Zoo but may be some other time.
Count us out as we are not in town. Would be interested in going some other time.
Although SF is free for 4th July, my preference is Oakland zoo. Also deposit is not required for on the spot group rate, though little expensive then the deposit rate but still cheaper than normal price. You folks can go ahead with your original plan of SF zoo.
Don’t know if we will also go to the SF zoo or not since it’s going to be really hot day.
But we can definitely go to Oakland zoo in a group some other time (let weather cool down little bit)
