As a young kid I enjoyed Bhattukli A marathi word for Ghar ghar. I loved the small kitchen set, the cups and saucer and would dress up in a saree. The other favorite one was teacher teacher. As I grew older i played lagori ( I am sure many of u know this game) , Marbles , dabies pies ( the other name for hide and seek ), Chor police , cards and bandminton.
I have played marbles, lagori and that eight-box langdi thing where you throw a flat stone into each o f the 8 boxes and then hop into each box and jumping over the box which has the stone.
ghar-ghar, teacher-teacher, indoor favorites.
lock n key, badminton, the eight-box langdi, outdoor favorites.
Neelam, u’ve reminded us of those sweet days, next time in the picnic we shud play all these games !?
kacha limbu, pakka limbu and time-please funda and all that 🙂
I used to play Land and Water also. That was fun too.
Sakdi, Badminton, thapo, lagori, marbles, kho, indoor games such as snakes and ladder , as we grew we played cards, kodi, and pachika (play with 5 pcs similar to dice)
“Chaupaat” was another favorite board game. Its like Ludo and played with Kodyoon (similar to shells).
Goti Patta and Still love it now I call it teen patti as I can afford to play with pennies…..but onething didnt change I lost then and I lose today also….
Land-water, Vish-Amrut, Gotya (marbles), Lagori, Langdi, gilli-danda, kood-ghodi and of course, lot of games with no names (and their rules) that we made up on the go just like Calvin-ball. If these games involved equipments then the owner of the equipments always won!

We use 2 glasses and lakdi as a net. Than we used to kneel down and play table tennis.
