Steam Vacuuming

Does anyone own a good quality steam vacuum. Does it make sense to buy a good one or call the professional carpet cleaners every 6-12 months. Also I wonder that even if you buy a good one, can it be better than the ones that you can rent from HomeDepot?

Lot of food stuff is ending up on the carpet with Miloni and hence the question 🙂

  1. Our friends have rented it from I think Safeway, and they were happy with it. Buying the vacuum will occupy space in the house!

  2. On the positive side, if you buy it then your friends 😉 can borrow it from you.

  3. That brings up a good point. Couple of people can buy it together and circulate around. If the individual contribution comes to same as one time professional carpet cleaning cost, its worth it even if its used once or twice 🙂

Also with the tough toxic chemicals used by the professional carpet cleaners, it will be a much “Greener” solution as well if we use earth friendly chemical in the vacuum 🙂

  4. U-Haul also has steam vacuum cleaner for rent, I think. How much does a good steam vacuum cleaner cost? I would be interested to know the usefulness of owning a steam vacuum cleaner too.

  5. Good ones are in the range of $250-$500. I saw this one for $395 somewhere….Looks like a very reputed company. Not heard about them probably because its from UK i think.

There are some from hoover too.

  6. Any recommendation on carpet cleaners?
