Photos Sites Alternatives

Now that Yahoo! Photos is closing shop (and basically concentrating on Flickr – a yahoo photo sharing site) maybe it will be helpful to exchange some information about the other alternate photo sites that you can transfer photos to automatically from Yahoo. If you use any of these sites and have positive/negative things about it please pen it down here.

1) Flickr : Its a Yahoo site, but it has certain limits for free users. Pro accounts are about 25$/year. It is highly regarded in the world of online photo albums. Limits imposed on free users are limits on number of albums (3) and only the latest 200 number of photos are displayed. Here is more info on flickr limits for free users.

2) SnapFish: Owned by HP. Forces viewers to login to view photos.

3) Shutterfly:

4) PhotoBucket:

5) Kodak Gallery : I think this gives a larger default image than other photo sites. So nature type photos will seem beautiful here.

6) SmugMug: I dont think Yahoo will provide automated way to xfer photos to this site. Just the above 5 sites are supported for automated xfer.

For each of these sites, you probably would want to find out :
1) Storage limits
2) Whether you need to spend money every so often to keep account active
3) Recovery of original size photo
4) Printing options
5) Bulk Uploading tools
6) Login required for guests to view photos
