As MUMBAI folks are witnessing more traffic every year, they are also adding more malls to the city. Slowly every suburb in Mumbai will have a mall . ATRIA – the millenium mall as it is called is one of the latest. Located in worli – it’s a clean, posh & an impressive 4 storey structure with a glass elevator.
Primary reason to visit this mall was to check out the 4D movie theatre that they have. Yes there is a mini theatre which shows 3D and 4D movies. Ticket prices for a 4D movie are about 250-300 rupees, while for 3 movies is about 150-200. There were about 5 movies that run for 20-25 minutes. Some movies are daily whereas some of them were alternate days. The chair in the 4D movie rotates/revolves vigourously in 6 different directions with things moving around your legs, falling from sky in front of you depending on the scene. Seemed like a good fun for adults. Since Jash was along we decided to go for a 3D movie (Santa’s polar blast) – A nice experience for Jash with snow falling from top, cold air coming when they start the scene of North pole , bubbles around you etc etc.
The 4th floor of the mall is entertainment zone – small Go karting area, video games, a small play structure (similar to kids castle/jungle for kids – here you can drop the kids for 45 minutes for Rs. 100 and go for shopping. Helpers are there to look after the kids), food court area etc. Food court has variety of shops from pani puri to pasta 🙂
Other than the standard branded stores (like mango, levis etc), couple of stores here are interesting.
1. 3D Illusion Art – This store had 3D sculptures/photos. Very neat. Price range varies from Rs 6000 – Rs 42000, depending upon the image.
The 3 Dimensional Holographic Sculptures combines sculptures and light to create a very unique product using the magic of virtual movement. Beautiful serene illumination that appears to move with you by synthesizing art, physics and light into new patented Holographic Sculptures presented with certified electric lamps.
Some of the sculptures were also illuminated using diya’s – it felt very peaceful when you stand or move in front of these sculptures (Images of Lord Mahavir, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha etc) – as it feels that god is looking upon you.

2. Another one was OSIM India – brands itself as the world’s 1st intelligent massage chair. Other than chairs, they have a bunch of other massage products related to feet, eye etc.

Probably derives its name from the word Atrium.
Its nice that they have childcare facility.
Other malls that we went to (Nirmal , R-mall) did not have childcare facilities.
We will check out the Atria next time….
All these malls are becoming good hangout joints. Since You have nice restaurants, Entertainment and later Dessert places all in one location. Many of them have loud music going on which provides oppurtunity for kids and teens to have a free discotheque.
