When the KV Stars Rocked Remington Grove

The KV Stars descended upon Remington Grove on May 13th and provided some good entertainment and a glimpse into their abundant talent.

Kutchi Idol-2 kicked off with a musical chairs game for kids. Nitul and (was it Rashi or Ruchi) won the game (although for the record Nitul did join the game half-way. 😉 ). Actually before the musical chairs, we had a warm-up round of Hula-Hoops. Some people tried it for the first time and caught on pretty good.

Most people arrived on time and that meant that we could start on time. The tv-media was there too in form of Buricha Broadcasting, Nishar Communications, and Maru TV :-).

Nitul kicked off with “Kabhi to Nazar Milao”. I wont list the other songs sung here. But the singing quality was great across the board. Since people were used to the Karaoke system (courtesy Idol-1 and a small demo before Idol-2) there were no confusions and lyrics sync delays.

The Singers List: Nilesh, Vandana, Sanket, Vijay, Jayesh, Bhavini, Parul, Amita N, Amisha, Nitul, Nimit, Paras, Komal, Kalpesh, Swati, Dimple, Deep, Sanjay1, Devanshi, Prashant and the kids. (Apologies if I missed anyone)

Devanshi sang the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana” beautifully. Nimit and Paras decided to deviate from the ordinary and sing a kutchi song. They even brought a trash can as substitute for tabla. They sang the Gajjiyo.

Each singer was given about 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.

Pizza was ordered from Sierra Sam’s and though the Pizza was good the attitude of the people in charge at Sierra Sam’s could have been more friendlier. Wonder whether the shop has changed owners now.

We resumed singing after the Pizza break and were done by 9.30pm. The audience was given chance to comment after every song and the audience did good on their part. :-). There were no judges and no prizes.

At the end, we had a small Hula-Hoop competition but everyone knew who the winner was going to be. It was Shivani, of course.

The singing talent in the sporting kutchis bodes well for the camping trip and we look forward to hearing some more songs at that time.

  1. Kudos to Prashant, Dimple, Bhavini and Jayesh for organizing this event. Our family had a lot of fun!!

  2. The after-party (impromptu) was at Amit-Sneha’s place and resulted in a game of Teen-Patti. After all when the Burichas and Galas (1&2) are involved Tash kay Pattay cannot stay inside. It seems some people were around till 3am.

  3. Sneha
Nilesh was a quick learner for Hula Hoop…

  4. Well the guys did a better(better than girls:) )job of doing hula-hoop. Also the second winner in hula-hoop would be Dimple.
