Recently I tried a service which sends photos to India (by post). The name of the site is www.picsquare.com.
If your folks are not computer-savvy (like my folks) and you want to share photos with them then this is a nice service. I paid via Paypal and the photos reached my parents in Mumbai in 4-5 days. They did not have to go anywhere to collect it and it was nice for them to be able to get it right at the doorstep. The printing of photos was done in Bangalore.
Right now they have special prices going on (5 cents per photo). So in about 2 dollars, I was able to send 16 photos (including shipping and handling). The promotion ends on Mar 15 but you can keep checking for more promotional prices in the future.
Thanks Prashant for information………
http://www.photoprints2india.com is another website which has been offering this service for a long time. They don’t have any promotion right now 🙁 But one of my friends from Pune own’s this company. In case you need any help ….
I just saw the actual prints which these guys had delivered to my home in India and WOW. The quality is amazing. Its better than what we develop at Costco or Walmart. Not sure why is that. Could be that they use a better resolution printer than others. But I am definitely very happy with the print quality.
Hi Prashant,
Really happy to know that you like the quality of prints. I am also not sure why the quality is better than Costco/Walmart, but ya we have been very careful in selecting our vendors and the prime criteria being the quality. I am sure that’s helping us.

Hey Prashant, I surprised my parents by sending pictures and they were very happy. The print quality was also good. Thanks for recommending this website. It also just cost me 90c for 24 pictures. 😀

Hi,
As we are aware that Yahoo Photos is closing for Indian users on October 18, 2007. Yahoo is allowing its users to migrate photos to Flickr which is undoubtedly a great photo sharing site. However, there are limitation like limited storage space for free account and Indian users can use Flickr only for sharing photographs.
To allow users to do more with their photographs Picsquare (www.picsquare.com) providing you an option of importing their Yahoo photo to Picsquare.
– Picsquare provides unlimited free storage space.
– Not only share photographs but also order photo prints online and get the prints delivered anywhere in India.
– Create various products like mug, t-shirt, calendar, poster using photographs
